Team Hector from Technische Universität Darmstadt has once again won the RoboCup in Magdeburg with its item-sponsored rescue robot.

Hector (Heterogeneous Cooperating Teams of Robots) develops search and rescue robots at Technische Universität Darmstadt.

Its aim is to develop robotic systems that can be deployed during major incidents and natural disasters to undertake a range of tasks autonomously.

The robots are put through simulated disaster scenarios at the university, during which they have to investigate the scenario and identify potential victims, without any outside intervention.

During this year’s RoboCup German Open, where teams from across Germany competed against each other in similar mock scenarios, Team Hector successfully defended its title as German Champion.

item continues to support the team this year and has its fingers crossed for the upcoming World Championship in Brazil.

item has posted a video about the partnership on its YouTube channel:
